Converting Auto Leads into Sales

  • Nov 14, 2007

Marketing Sherpa is a terrific website all about...Marketing.  Now you may think auto dealerships, their dealer websites and a website on marketing have nothing in common.  Wrong.

What does a dealership do to get more car sales?  They market.  Every dealership should have a marketing manager.  If not then the Internet Manager needs to take on the Online Marketing.  Now if you don't have an Internet Manager and don't think about online marketing, then you're going to be closed in a year or two.

This latest case study from the Sherpa is about converting old leads into sales.  The summary: "SUMMARY: If you’re paying for online leads that are growing old because your team is concentrating on new leads, quit ignoring them.

An online home mortgage company devised a triggered email program to target consumer leads that were going stale. They’re seeing 89% ROI, and the campaign increased sales 11.07% during a severely depressed year for the housing market."

You can read the entire case study for free for a week after they post it.  After that you have to pay to read it.  I highly recommend every car dealership read the Sherpa case studies they have.  Any tip over there could really skyrocket your car sales.

Dealer Marketing Ad Gone Wrong

  • Nov 13, 2007

The AdFreak blog found this newspaper ad by Renault.  Oops.

The ad states that they won't use the N word for so many days. When you hear the phrase "N word" what do you think of?  I'm sure it's not November.  So does this mean they used to use the N word but got in trouble?  Do you want to shop for a car from a company that uses the N word?

I think this car dealer ad really messed up.
